OUTING – Koeberg Nature Reserve Leader: Peter Nupen

Meet at 08h30.
This is a private reserve run and managed by Eskom’s Koeberg Power Station. It includes two major types of veld: West Coast Strandveld and Duineveld, and 153 bird species have been recorded. One can also look out for grysbok, steenbok, bontebok, springbuck, and grey mongoose.
Directions: From the Cape Town side, take the R27 West Coast road. Pass the turn-off to Duynefontein. The Koeberg Nuclear Power Station entrance is on the left and is signposted. The reserve entrance is on the left and is signposted
NB. Bring along your Driver’s licence or ID to sign in at security. Proceed to a four-way stop, at which you turn right. Continue to the Conservation office on your left and park at the office. Bring refreshments for a full morning.
