Meet at 08h00. These regular monthly outings are for all Rondevlei enthusiasts and beginners are especially welcome. Duration 2 1⁄2 hours, but you can stay as long as you like. Bring a warm anorak even if it is a hot day as it can get cold in the hides. Entrance is free. The Cape Bird Club members have been helping the City of Cape Town by clearing invasive alien vegetation since 1974, when Alan Morris started this activity in the Wildwood Bird Sanctuary, now the Zandvlei Nature Reserve. Come and help our core group, clear seedlings, saplings and cut down trees too. Small school groups or individuals who need to do their social responsibility projects are welcome too. Meet at 19h30. Joel was fortunate to visit southern Zambia for fieldwork during his studies at the FitzPatrick Institute. This evening he will talk about birding in Zambia’s Miombo Woodlands, as well as sharing some of his research on the fascinating world of nightjars, plovers, and coursers.
