Rare Bird Report: Rufous-Tailed Scrub Robin

In a report on the SA Rare Bird News Forum on 17 July 2016, Trevor Hardaker announced that a Rufous-Tailed Scrub Robin (Cercotrichas galactotes) had been seen by Peter Steyn and Andre Demblon near the Zeekoevlei picnic area along the entrance road to the Strandfontein Sewage Works.
Andre managed to get a record shot of the bird and after some debate by the experts it was positively identified.

Its presence at Zeekoevlei has caused much excitement in birding crcles as this is the first record for this bird in Southern Africa.
The bird was still present at Zeekoevlei on Sunday 31 July.
