    Zandvlei Estuary Nature Reserve cor Derwent Cresent and Coniston Avemue, Steenberg, Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa

    Meet at 08h30. This reserve near Muizenberg is normally closed on weekends but we have arranged for the club to have access. It includes wetlands, a river system, and an estuary. Directions: From the Main Road in Retreat, turn into Military Road at the Lavender Hill sign and continue over the level crossing. At the first set of traffic lights turn right into Coniston Road. (If you are coming from Prince George Drive turn into Military Road, and then left into Coniston Road at the traffic lights.)     Strandfontein Birding Area False Bay Nature Reserve, Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa

    The CBC members have been collecting bird data here since 1983, when Alan Morris was Chairman formalised the counts. Come and help count the birds, it is a large area and teams are required for the various areas. See the bird count data for this RAMSAR and IBA site.
