Saturday 2nd December 2023 has been designated Birding Big Day by BirdLife South Africa. Slightly later that usual but all the usual rules apply.

The Club will be entering a crack team of our top birders, in an attempt to break the 50km radius regional record.

In addition to this, Club members are encouraged to make up teams and enter.  2022 Birding Big Day saw several teams of our junior members taking part and we anticipate the same again… maybe more.

To add a new dimension and as part of the anniversary year we are planning for the following day (Sunday 3rd), a bring-and-share supper and get-together at the home of one of the participants, for all to share and discuss their exploits on BBD.
