July 2022.

It was a superb sunny winter’s day for the monthly count. The birds clearly enjoyed it.  All the problems did not spoil the real enjoyment of being out there. Some photos on the day.

Purple Heron on E3 pan, Pochards and a Cape Shoveler, Macoa drake and there were more than 100 Dabchicks on C pan.

February 2022.

No count took place in  January 2022, the date was changed to 05 February 2022.

As can be seen in the photo behind the Little Egret, there is an issue with the waterweed invasives around the new heronry. The juvenile Malachite Kingfishers were at the chlorination ponds. The Night Heron and Glossy Ibis were on pan E2. The Avocet at pan C and the African Darter at pan A.
