BirdLife South Africa created the Owl Awards in order to acknowledge the companies and individuals who donate their time and money to the organisation and make it possible to continue all their conservation programmes and projects.
Dave Whitelaw was presented with an Owl Award this year for his contribution to conservation over many years. The award was presented to Dave by Vernon Head, BirdLife South Africa’s Chairman at the CBC Club meeting on 02 October 2014.
Dave was nominated for this award by Dale Wright, BirdLife SA’s Regional Conservation Manager for the Western Cape.
