A large group of over 30 birders met for the bird walk on the 21st of January 2020. We walked towards the pond where we were treated to sightings of Swee Waxbills, Bronze Mannikins and Black Saw-wings carrying nesting material. From there we headed to the Boomslang, from which a circling European Honey Buzzard was seen. The Spotted Eagle Owl also put on a good show. A stroll through the Fynbos Garden produced excellent sightings of Cape Sugarbird and Orange-breasted Sunbird, which were particularly numerous in the Gardens today.
Thank you to everyone one who joined the walk.
In total 37 species were seen and heard.
