Hacking Team at Zandvlei Nature Reserve – October 2010.

This is a working relationship with the City of Cape Town and the Zandvlei Trust.

The afternoon was hot and clear with a SE breeze blowing. Una filled 3 bags with junk from the “Hotel California”. She found another smaller parrot beaked tortoise in the area she worked. Sue found a small green stick insect when cutting down saplings. Bert found another bees nest in a rocky depression near where he was working and decided to move down the slope in the opposite direction. We cleared a good tract of trees today and opened up another vista towards the vlei mouth. There are indeed plenty of variety in the plant species per square meter on this site.

Blousysie Geissorhiza aspera flowering on the slopes in October.
