Hacking Team at Zandvlei Nature Reserve – February 2017.

This is a working relationship with the City of Cape Town and the Zandvlei Trust.

It was a hot, sunny afternoon with a slight SE wind, picking up with local sea mist cloud at the mountain peaks developing through the afternoon. It was humid and “dripping” out of the wind.

William Radue, Joele and Jaiden his boys worked in the lower section cutting down Manatoka trees and the dead Port Jackson trees. Bert, Barry and Sue worked on the upper slope cutting Manatoka trees and Port Jackson higher up the slope. Bert cut down the large Manatoka next to the Colona Castle which the owner complained about to the Manager of Zandvlei Nature Reserve. I worked with Robin on the honey suckle in the middle section.

Not many birds were about or insects visible. Spoke to Joule about volunteering at Zandvlei Nature Reserve.
