On the 31st of May, a group of Floreat learners – looking smart in their new environmental club t-shirts – joined CBC volunteers for an exciting morning at Intaka island. The day kicked off with a boat ride around the island, a first-time experience for most learners.
After docking we split into small groups for a birding walk around the island, accompanied by bird bingo, to learn about different beak and foot functions.
Sighting highlights included a Malachite Kingfisher, Spotted Thick-knees and Black Crakes. It was a successful morning of learning with a particularly engaging group of young learners.
