    Join David as he takes us on an exciting tour which includes: (1) Island-hopping through the Galapagos Islands, where the story of evolution began; (2) A visit to Yasuni National Park on the Napo River in the Amazon basin of Ecuador; (3) Birding Pico Bonito National Park on the Caribbean coast of Honduras and (4) A visit to El Jaguar Cloud Forest Reserve in the mountains of Northern Nicaragua.

    Quiz Master: Mike Buckham. Meet at 19h00. Mike will challenge the Club with his usual end-of-year quiz, marking the end of a great year in the CBC. The entrance fee of R120 will include pizzas which will be served at the start of the evening. Please bring your own drinks.     Anusuya is former Honorary President of BirdLife SA. She is an NRF A-rated, world-renowned palaeo- biologist based at UCT. Her research on the microscopic structure of mineralised tissues has led to a better understanding of the biology of a variety of extinct animals, such as dinosaurs (including birds), the flying reptiles, and the mammal-like reptiles.   • Evening Meeting: Albatross Task Force: Life at Sea trying to save seabirds. Speaker: Reason Nyengera.

    Albatrosses are majestic seabirds that spend much of their lives soaring over vast ocean expanses, scavenging for food. Tragically, they are frequently caught unintentionally in fishing gear – a phenomenon known as bycatch. This is one of the major drivers of population declines, with 15 of the 22 albatross species now threatened with extinction.
