Meet at 08h00. These regular monthly outings are for all Rondevlei enthusiasts and beginners are especially welcome. Duration 2 1⁄2 hours, but you can stay as long as you like. Bring a warm anorak even if it is a hot day as it can get cold in the hides. Entrance is free. Entrance is free, but remember to bring your ID, driver’s licence, or passport in order to obtain an entry permit at the gate.

  Meet at 08h30. Meet in the parking area at the first building before the start of the pans. We will concentrate on the many water birds, especially the waders. The outing will last about 3 hours. The Cape Bird Club members have been helping the City of Cape Town by clearing invasive alien vegetation since 1974, when Alan Morris started this activity in the Wildwood Bird Sanctuary, now the Zandvlei Nature Reserve. Come and help our core group, clear seedlings, saplings and cut down trees too. Small school groups or individuals who need to do their social responsibility projects are welcome too. The birds in the tropical North provide a wonderful contrast to the birds of the temperate South. Meet at 07h30. The Moravian church in Mamre is South Africa’s fifth oldest church and was completed in 1818 and was declared a National Monument in 1967. We will do some farmland birding and also spend some time on the church grounds. An early start gives us the advantage of beating the heat and seeing some of the birds before they retreat for the day.
