Come and help count the birds, it is a large area and teams are required for the various areas. See the bird count data for this RAMSAR and IBA site.
Meet at the Main Gate of the Zandvlei Estuary Nature Reserve before 08h00. All are welcome, experienced or not. If you are new to birding, I shall put you into a group which will help you learn quickly and easily. There is always something new to be seen or heard. Please Note. We have managed to get access to the Paarl Bird Sanctuary on 08 November 2025. So we’re going to do a much-needed bird count on the Saturday. If anyone is in the area and is able to help, we will be counting between 09h00 and 11h00. Construction of the new sewage works will still be an ongoing concern for another two years.
