Outing – Farewell the Waders at Langebaan Lagoon, West Coast National Park Leader: Mel Tripp.

March 16 @ 7:00 am - 4:00 pm

Geelbek Cottage and Stable accommodation - Mel Tripp

Please note: that there may be delays on entering due to construction work at the Park. This is the start of the R30 million West Coast Park upgrade.

The gates open at 07h00. Meet at 07h15 at the Geelbek Homestead car park.

The WCNP gates open at 07h00. We will meet at 07h30 at the Geelbek Homestead car park. Remember your Wild Card so that you don’t have to pay the entrance fee. We suggest you share transport and allow for a full day’s outing. Bring chairs and refreshments.

Also Note:  Due to the tides on this day, the ebb tide should be optimal for birds to be coming in to feed on the mud flats at around 08h30.
Therefore, after meeting, we will go straight to the Geelbek hide.

When we have had our share of wader watching we will go to the picnic area for an early lunch, after which members are free to visit other parts of the park to bird if they wish.

Another Note:  The tide will be far out most of the afternoon.

We suggest you share transport and allow for a full day’s outing.

Bring chairs and refreshments.
