This is a working relationship with the City of Cape Town and the Cape Bird Club.
Alan Morris started the co-ordinated bird counts in December 1974 and they still continue at Zandvlei.
A moderate SE wind was blowing today. The estuary mouth was closed. Lots of solid waste in lower part of the vlei, windblown from picnic areas (plastic, cardboard etc.) Most open water in the Westlake Wetlands was covered in a variety of water weed species.
