At 07h00 the weather looked ominous on the 6th May 2017 at Zeekoevlei. The wind and clouds were coming in from the NW and the air temparature was cool to cold. Would the rain stay away till after lunch time? The Bedouin tent had been put up the afternoon before in the activity centre on the eastern shore of Zeekoevlei. There was much activity of all he stall holders arriving in the background. the Registration table was first to be ready for early arrivals to register before the start time of 08h00.
The 25 CBC volunteers were receiving their instructions and documentation for each of the 5 tables set up along the walking route. They had to be ferried to their positions along the 6 km walking route in the Southern Birding Area.
