The Cape Bird Club

Strandfontein – 1st March 2009

These guys made it.

Although the Juniors had a poor turn-out, our visit to Strandfontein IBA was most enjoyable.

The wind had dropped and the birds were very obliging. Among the many we saw were African Snipe, Marsh Harrier and Orange-throated Longclaw as well as dozens of Yellow-billed Ducks which have been particularly evident these past few weeks. The adult flamingoes have left.
We saw roughly 46 species.
