Hacking Team at Zandvlei Nature Reserve – May 2009.

This is a working relationship with the City of Cape Town and the Zandvlei Trust.

The Margate Road area was cleared of bushes screening an area where pedestrian drinking and littering occurs. Bowen and Bert cut down a copsed Manatoka trees. Chris Hosking and Declan Ross clearing the bottles, plastic and glass for recycling. Judy Post filled her bags in Bath Road. !5 bags of litter were filled for removal.
2 Blackshouldered Kites were seen hawking Grysbok Park. A large flock of Cape Sparrows, Southern Doubled collared Sunbirds, Karoo Prinias were also flitting about in the shrubs. Kelp and Hartlaub’s Gulls were on most of the light poles. Pied Crows, Redwing and Common Starlings, Fiscal Shrikes and Cape Robins were about. Also seen were 2 small dark brown skinks, species not known.
