Hacking Team at Zandvlei Nature Reserve – February 2012.

This is a working relationship with the City of Cape Town and the Zandvlei Trust.

Thank goodness there was cloud cover and intermittent misty rain showers at times. February is usually the hottest month to work. Good rain last night as well, after a very hot 3 weeks.
Milan, Sue, Chris and Bert started on the “Mountain Whiskey Inn” where Bert left off last month. There are literally 100’s of Bains Mountain Whiskey bottles even Moet champagne bottles in the tavern under the Manatoka tree. Expensive drinking habits these bergies have!! The well disguised “Whiskey Mountain Inn” with creepers over the Manatoka canopy, years of growth.
There are some huge garden escapees of Cape Honeysuckle, Morning Glory creeper and a specie of Plectranthus. There is obviously a very good water source down the slope of the mountain to sustain these plants in full sun all day.
