This is a working relationship with the City of Cape Town and the Zandvlei Trust.
We made quite an impression in a small but dense stand of port jackson saplings this month. It opened a whole vista of Muizenberg, the vlei and the sea. It was hot and very windy from the south east with plenty of braai fires in the area especially down at the picnic areas at the vlei.
Sue, Declan and David sawed down many Port Jackson saplings. Una filled 6 large bags with plastic insulation for copper cables, old shoes, glass, plastic bottles, plastic wrappings, paper and more…
There are some beautiful large rocks with lichens, which are hidden from sight on the slopes in amongst the trees and shrubs. The condition of the indigenous shrubs is also good. There are some quite old specimens in this area.
Thank you very much to everyone who has helped this year.
