- All members and visitors are encouraged to participate in these outings at the various sites.
- Information gathered helps scientists determine many findings about our natural habitats and the birds that use them.
- This also helps the management policies by the relevant authorities in the Cape Fynbos areas, which is a World Heritage Site.
- Send in your photographs to the webmaster.
- We need to let others know that we care about "our birding areas".
Do you know
You can contribute to;
- the BIRP (Birds In Reserves Project) run by the ADU (Animal Demographic Unit) based at the University of Cape Town.
- By doing so you as a "citizen scientist" are helping to establish local and national species information and contribute to bird conservation. The process is fairly simple; volunteers go out to any PA (protected area) and simply make a list of all the bird species observed. Data can be collected up to a maximum of seven days.
- Please start at your nearest reserve and record all the birds you see and submit them via the data gathering process.
