West Coast National Park – 20 March 2005.

On a hot and partly cloudy day, with a good turnout of members.



Brian van der Walt was the leader, the group count by tea was about 74 species.



Some of the habitat at the Reserve, with one of its inhabitants.



A Black Korhaan came to see what was going on.



In the Seeberg hide – the view offered large variety of estuarine birds including Greater Flamingo.



This was the lunchtime lookout at Seeberg.



Some of the shore birds, Sanderlings, Curlew Sandpipers, Turnstones, Wood Sandpiper, Ruffs, Stints, Whitefronted Plovers and Whimbrels were some of the waders seen. Shelduck were present.

Tea in the shade was very welcome.
A highlight for some was a Grey Heron swallowing a large snake with some difficulty.
