Eagle Encounters – May 2009

A party of 7 Juniors (plus adult escorts) gathered at Eagle Encounters, the raptor rehabilitation centre at Spier Wine Estate. The weather was superb and the members enjoyed close-up encounters with many species before being seated for the 11.00 a.m. display.

Hank provided his usual outstanding interactive demonstration and included one item from the 2.00 p.m. show for the benefit of the CBC. Apart from the hands-on experience, his dialogue provides a wealth of information that would take years to gather from books.
The newly acquired juvenile Cape Vulture added much humour.

Thanks to the staff and the weather, the outing was a great success.
