The Cape Bird Club A braai in Kirstenhof in January 2012. Clifford and Suretha Dorse "volunteered" to have a braai at their home. After some very welcome rain during the day the afternoon had some pleasant sunshine to end off the day. The idea was to have a braai to start off the new year intstead of the end of the year hectic thing. The pond Clifford has created in his garden surrounded by Cape Flats Fynbos plants. How beautiful and natural looking. He told us it has attracted 10 species of dragonfly to date. There was a chorus of Cape River Frogs when it became dark. Frank, Felicity and Doug discussing something about birds, no doubt. Sue Whitelaw and Vonnie Morris catching up and Samantha Harebottle listening to the bird talk to her left. Dave checking all the drinks were OK. Isabella Hayden, Felicity Suretha, Shawn and Dave inspecting the front garden and pool area. The discusssion was about changing the garden to local indigenous plants and getting rid of the remaining grass patches. Clifford had stoked the fire in the mean time, and the food was on. Samantha looking after the spicing. Vonnie and Isabella listening to Franks interesting stories. ..... and the girls in the kitchen..... ........and the boys slaving over the hot stove. A very pleasant evening for all. Thanks to
Suretha and Clifford.
