Dick Barnes does the count with a small team of people. There is always a requirement for more helpers, as it is a vast area to cover. These counts are sent to the Animal Demography Unit at UCT who conduct a National census for all waterbirds.

He also leads the monthly counts which take place on the second Sunday of the month at 08h00. Come and help.
